da bet vitoria: West Brom need a bit of a boost after failing to win each of their last three games, and it seems as though they’re going to get one.
da pixbet: Indeed, the club’s official Twitter account confirmed on Monday evening that Grady Diangana is back in training after a lengthy period on the sidelines with injury.
Of course, the return of the West Ham loanee will be a huge bonus for the Baggies as he’s proven to be one of their better players this term, contributing to 10 goals in 21 league appearances.
However, this fresh update on Diangana’s fitness should also act as something of an eye-opener for Slaven Bilic as it hammers home the point that he should move Matheus Pereira back into a more central role.
Diangana’s injury has seen the Brazilian forced out to the right-wing in recent weeks, and although he’s been decent there, providing two assists in his last seven appearances, that doesn’t come close to matching the nine assists in 19 outings while playing in the centre this season.
Even before this positive injury update, there was already an argument that Pereira should be moved to accommodate Kamil Grosicki, a winger who contributed to 21 goals last season, but Diangana’s return means that Bilic would be foolish to not make this change.
The Baggies have faltered a little bit lately, picking up just one point from the last six available, meaning that they’ve been leapfrogged at the top of the Championship table.
The 20-year-old’s return could be the catalyst they need to get back on track as we enter the final few weeks of the campaign, and if his comeback leads to Pereira being moved back into a more favourable role this could turn out to be a boost in more than one way for Albion.
In other news, West Brom fans have wrongly been raving over this man.
