Indeed, it was even suggested King himself wanted a move, and that United had seen their first bid of £20m turned down by the Cherries as they looked to keep hold of one of their prized assets.
But now, according to Sky Sports, the Red Devils have cooled their interest in the forward and have moved on to other options.

After hearing about the fresh update on their pursuit of King, United fans took to Twitter to voice their thoughts on the situation, with many expressing their relief that they may not be signing the Norwegian after all.
A couple of fans however took the opportunity to insist that signing a new striker is still a necessity, with one supporter in particular urging them to do some late business with time running out.
Whilst some United fans appear to be thankful that they may be swerving on King, surely the Bournemouth man would be better than absolutely no-one?
