da 888casino: Tottenham Hotspur face Liverpool this weekend in a game that marks a huge test for Jose Mourinho’s men.
On the chalkboard
da brwin: The Reds have lost yet to lose a game this season.
They did draw 1-1 with Manchester United at Old Trafford but, of 60 potential points, they have taken 58 this season.
Where, then, are their weaknesses?
They have conceded a mere 14 goals this term in 20 games, with nine coming from open play, three from set pieces and two, per WhoScored, on the counter-attack.
They are remarkably good when it comes to their defending, then, and merely sitting deep and hoping to break is not going to be a viable strategy for Spurs boss Jose Mourinho.
The big fat Tottenham quiz of 2019 – how much do you remember about the last year at Spurs?
They are excellent when it comes to stopping attacks down their left-hand side – only 14% of shots they have faced have come down that flank in the Premier League, perhaps thanks to the excellence of Andrew Robertson – but they concede 21% of their shots down the right.
That, in turn, could come down to Trent Alexander-Arnold consistently looking to attack and potentially leaving space in behind. With eight assists already this season – the most of any Liverpool player – the England international is clearly a massive asset for the Reds going forward.
But if Tottenham get their game-plan right, they can turn the Liverpool right-back’s offensive nature into a fatal weakness.
Exploit the left flank
Son Heung-Min is likely to play up front for Spurs because Harry Kane is injured.
That subsequently means Ryan Sessegnon is likely to play on the wing, and Son using his speed and movement to pull into the channel behind Alexander-Arnold could be a route through the Reds.
Liverpool concede a significantly higher percentage of shots from the left than from the right and allowing both Son and Sessegnon to double up on Alexander-Arnold could lead to chances.
Of course, it would potentially leave a void up front but if Dele Alli plays in the No.10 role, he can slip into the space vacated by the South Korea international.
Liverpool have a number of threats themselves and are the league’s form team – they have won 11 in a row.
But there are ways that Spurs can hurt them too.
Meanwhile, Spurs boss Jose Mourinho has made a massive transfer demand.
