Everton are set to target a proven goalscorer in January, and they could do a lot worse than Bournemouth’s Callum Wilson.
According to Times reporter Paul Joyce, Marco Silva will move for a new striker in January.
The likes of Cenk Tosun and Dominic Calvert-Lewin simply aren’t good enough to help the Toffees challenge the big six, and Richarlison can’t play out of position forever.
Wilson could be the perfect signing, as he has the pace, vision and technical skill to flourish in Silva’s high-tempo system.
In short, Silva needs a striker that can hurt teams on the counter attack, bury chances, and bring the wingers and Gylfi Sigurdsson into the play.

Wilson is one of the most creative strikers in the league at the moment with five assists and 1.4 key passes per games so far this season, so he could definitely bring the best out of Richarlison and Sigurdsson.
He completed three key passes and provided an assist for Ryan Fraser in the Cherries’ Tuesday night win over Huddersfield, and he also completed two dribbles.
While it’s clear he is more than good enough on the ball to thrive in Silva’s system, the most important trait for any striker is that he simply knows how to stick the ball in the back of the net.
The 26 year-old, who scored on his England debut during the last international break, has 47 league goals in 121 appearances for Bournemouth, and has struck nine times in all competitions this season.
He opened the scoring on Tuesday night with a deft header, proving once again that he can make things happen at any moment, despite being fairly limited by Huddersfield with just 38 touches on the ball.
Wilson’s scoring record for a man who has suffered two serious injuries over the last three seasons is nothing short of incredible, and his pace, vision and goalscoring would wreak havoc alongside stars like Richarlison and Sigurdsson.
So, Everton fans, do you fancy a move for Wilson? Would he be a good signing? Let us know your thoughts by voting in the poll below…
