da fezbet: Spurs’ season could become one of the best in the history of the club from here, or, in typical Spurs style, it could collapse into a fourth place finish, Europa League exit and another barren season for a club that always promises more than they ever achieve.
da betsson: Leeds, on the other hand, are still under the turbulent rule of Cellino and the club seems to never be more than a month away from another period of crises. Steve Evans is having to work under an owner who could be thrown out any minute and the club are having to battle against a feeling of uncertainty that won’t budge.
Mauricio Pochettino must be wondering what the fuss was about with this Premier League management nonsense by now. The Spurs boss was an overwhelming success during his time at Southampton and looks to be on course to carry the Lilywhites to their first title since the founding of capitalism’s favourite sports league.
Spurs’ academy has produced some crackers of late, could any of these FIVE be the next ‘Arry Kane?
Shanyon Harrison
Harrison, a left-footed centre forward, was the star of Tottenham’s under-18s last season. The youngster might have to spend some time on the wing if he is to make the move down to the Championship for first-team football, but his quality has been shown in the under-18s and has been one of the key goal scorers in a talented Spurs cohort.
He would struggle to start at Leeds, but Harrison’s all round game would certainly develop from playing senior football.
Clinton Njie
There must be nothing more frustrating than feeling you have got your big move and then becoming ostracised.
Njie might be feeling similar to this right now. The Frenchman arrived from Lyon last summer and, despite Tottenham’s shortage of strikers, he has been limited to Europa League appearances.
The former Lyon man has pace that would frighten even the most experienced centre-backs and he could be an asset in the current Leeds side.
Nabil Bentaleb
After his breakthrough campaign under Tim Sherwood, Nabil Bentaleb is now a relative outcast in Tottenham’s extremely talented central midfield.
Alli’s arrival, with the resurgence of Mousa Dembele, has made competition for places fierce and the Algerian has struggled to make himself a regular in Pochettino’s plans.
Although Spurs would be unlikely to loan out a player with first-team experience when they have a title to fight for, a loan might be the best move for Bentaleb’s career.
Joshua Onomah
Onomah has been a bright spark when he has featured for Spurs this season.
A star of Tottenham’s academy, the midfielder has quick feet and an eye for a pass that could make him a brilliant partner for Lewis Cook.
The U21s would miss having Onomah in their squad, but, if his previous performances are anything to go by, the youngster could be ready to break into the Spurs’ squad next season.
Kyle Walker-Peters
Kyle Walker-Peters is a full-back who can play on either side of the field and he is unlikely to break in to Spurs’ first-team with their huge amount of depth in the wide defensive positions.
Rose, Davies, Walker and Trippier are stalwarts in the first-team squad and Walker-Peters must be looking at how he can make a name for himself elsewhere.
