Speaking to Sky Sports about Manchester City’s two-year Champions League ban, UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin has claimed that the Sky Blues remain a ‘valued asset’ – but these supporters have been quick to jump on the comments and blast his verdict.Â
Pep Guardiola’s side were handed a two-year European ban nearly one month ago, with City supporters since blasting the governing body for their verdict that their club is still an ‘asset’ despite the punishment.
City were found guilty of ‘serious breaches’ to Financial Fair Play rules back in February, with the club responding in a statement by hinting they were ‘disappointed’ but not ‘surprised’. They were also fined £25 million by UEFA along with the ban, but with the club’s official appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, it’s yet to be seen whether the ban will be reduced or upheld.
In response to Ceferin’s message that City are still an ‘asset’, many Sky Blues supporters have taken to Twitter in order to blast his verdict – find all of their best comments down below.
