da gbg bet： Rangers fans are loving Thursday’s big transfer news, as Steven Davis has joined the club on a one-year deal.
Davis returned to Ibrox for the second time in his career in January, joining the club on a six-month loan deal from Southampton.
And after making 16 appearances since the switch from St. Mary’s he has now penned a permanent deal that will keep him in Glasgow until the summer of 2020, the club confirmed on Thursday evening.
Davis of course spent four years with the club between 2008 and 2012, and has racked up a whopping 216 total appearances in the famous blue.
While he is not the dynamic midfielder he once was, the 108-cap Northern Ireland international adds that extra does of quality to Steven Gerrard’s midfield.
It also continues the trend of Gerrard signing freebies and bargains, perhaps saving up for a big marquee signing this summer.
Alfredo Morelos is reportedly on “thin ice”, so free signings like Davis may well allow the gaffer to replace the Colombian with an equal or perhaps even better player.
