da jogodeouro: Former Chelsea striker Kerry Dixon believes that this weekend’s Premier League clash between his old side and Arsenal will be close run affair but that the Blues will come out on top.
What’s the story?
The coming round of league fixtures is dominated by the early kick-off between leaders Chelsea and Arsenal. The Blues maintained their nine-point advantage at the top of the table during the week with a draw at Liverpool and many are suggesting that a victory over the Gunners will give them the sort of advantage at the summit that may prove too much for opponents to close.

And Dixon – who made over 300 appearances for the Stamford Bridge side and appeared eight times for England – thinks that Antonio Conte’s men will get the result they need, with a narrow 2-1 victory his prediction:
“It’s one of those games where both teams will play open football. It could go either way, Chelsea, of course, are going to be buoyed by the draw at Liverpool that extended their lead at the top and they’ll be looking to get something out of the game.
“I actually think Chelsea will win it. They’re strong at home and have a good record against Arsenal.â€
What will a win mean?
Should the Blues beat Arsenal they will put a 12-point buffer between themselves and the Gunners, who may be unable to bridge such a gap with 14 games remaining. However, a Spurs win over Middlesbrough will keep things as they are in terms of Chelsea’s advantage, while Liverpool are expected to beat relegation battlers Hull City.
