da betway: Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has told beIN Sports that star man Alexis Sanchez wants to stay at the Emirates amid constant speculation over his future.
da cassino: What’s the latest?
The ongoing saga that is Alexis Sanchez’s contract situation has received a fresh update from Wenger. Well, kind of.
The Frenchman has said in a media interview that the Chile international is keen to remain at the Emirates, despite the fact that the club and his camp are yet to agree on fresh terms.
Sanchez, like his teammate Mesut Ozil, has 18 months left on his current deal, and due to the apparent stalemate in contract discussions, there are fears that the 28-year-old may be looking elsewhere.
Earlier this week The Mirror reported that Sanchez’s meltdown after the Gunners’ 3-3 draw with Bournemouth convinced some of his teammates that the prolific attacker has decided to leave the club.
However, Wenger has attempted to calm fears by claiming that the former Barcelona star wants to stay, and also suggested that the stall in talks is centred around wages. The Frenchman told beIN Sports:
“Alexis Sanchez is a committed player who wants to stay. I’m convinced we’ll find an agreement. It has to be in our potential. We are not scared to spend the money, and we are not scared to show the players we love them and we want them to earn big money but we have to have a line of conduct.”

Should Arsenal fans be worried?
The Gunners have been in positions before where they have allowed top players to leave. Cesc Fabregas and Robin van Persie are such examples.
Wenger sometimes has a reputation for tightening the purse strings when it comes to transfers, so if the stumbling block in contract talks involving both Sanchez and Ozil is down to money, it could be concerning.
It was not that long ago when the Premier League manager told reporters that he would not allow either player to leave before their deals expire at the end of next season.
So, he may have no plans to cash in on the duo, but with the market how it is, particularly when considering the staggering wages being offered in the Chinese Super League, Arsenal may need to boost salaries in order to keep their stars.
